Transfiguration
“Transfiguration” is a video art piece that uses my “Strigoi” series as its foundation and is enhanced by other audio and visual works, telling a story of fear, death, and rebirth. Similar to the “Strigoi” series, the video references rural folk beliefs, popular legends and fictional works, and early U.S. social and cultural practices from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Strigoi
“Strigoi” is an interdisciplinary series focused on various aspects of death and vampirism. The works reference rural folk beliefs as well as early U.S. social and cultural practices from the 18th and 19th centuries. While the mediums vary with each piece, the series is linked by a consistent theme and meaning.
