Veronica McLaren
Through her independent studio practice, Veronica McLaren creates artwork at the intersection of reflection, historical inquiry, and visual expression. Her works, spanning digital media, photography, and acrylics, invite viewers to pause, question the narratives before them, and interpret each piece through the lens of their own perspective. Through a blend of dark surrealism and abstract expressionism, she explores the intersection of social, cultural, and historical themes, finding beauty in landscapes and narratives that are often overlooked.
A Rhode Island–based artist and the creator of Starina’s Art, Veronica holds a Bachelor’s in Art and an MBA. She brings a multi-disciplinary approach to her creative practice, blending technical skill with a professional focus on collaborative engagement, stewardship, and cultural awareness. While her current work centers on historical landscapes and social practices, her roots in the New England creative scene date back to 2008, when she first launched Starina’s Art to support the region’s independent music community. After a decade-long hiatus, she rekindled her studio practice in 2023, integrating a focus on collective memory and the atmospheric beauty of heritage sites into her evolving visual narrative.
