In November 2023, I resumed my passion for art in a part-time freelance capacity after a few years of being inactive. Since then, I have been working hard to expand my portfolio and find opportunities to showcase my art to as many people and in as many places as possible. I have pursued various avenues, such as social media shout-outs, magazine features, and gallery/exhibition showcases. However, many of these opportunities require submission/entry fees.
In my spare time, I have pursued continuing education courses to improve my skills; naturally, some require registration fees to either sign up or complete the course. I have also started commissions in an effort to grow my network and audience.
The cost of art supplies is a constant expense. Unfortunately, the arts community continues to be affected due to budget cuts and funding pullbacks.
